Isn't it amazing how, after a long, mostly wet Winter, a little sunshine lights up not just our gardens and the landscape but our whole outlook? You can almost feel the happiness of the birds at the same time as you hear their new Spring's Coming songs. You can almost see the grass beginning to grow again. You can sense what feels like a seismic, quantum shift in the earth - in a good way! - as the season gets ready to change. I give thanks for our seasons with every part of my being. There is joy in every time of the year of course, but most of all in this magical time of the year when Winter begins to give way to Spring and you just can't help but rejoice along with the birds. 'What is Art?' continues apace . . .

When I started collecting thoughts on this I reckoned I’d get 20 or so easily. Well today the tally has just reached 140 and I can see it’s easily going to be 200 before too long. It’s just fascinating. I’m not approaching it from the objective angle several people I’ve mentioned it to have assumed - it’s not a question of ‘Is this particular thing art or not?’. It’s about the meaning of Art. The real meaning. Turns out it’s not at all simple – and yet it may be. And almost every idea I throw to the winds can be a paradox like that and discussed from the opposite point of view, while both may be multi-stranded.
