Update on Hope

Oh my goodness, Jon Katz, (he and his wife are my favourite bloggers – he a writer and photographer, Maria a textile artist and a great writer too) - wrote a wonderful piece about me and my work on his blog yesterday at www.BedlamFarm.com.

I am over the moon because I love their work and their blogs are a daily treat for me – but I’ll write more about that another day.

Anyway, turns out the painting I mentioned yesterday is not by him but by (sadly the late) artist L V Hull - so wherever she may be I send my thanks to her for painting such a beautiful thing that gave me pleasure and inspired me so much yesterday.

Funny how inspirations sometimes flock together. As well as Jon’s words and photos inspiring me, (do look at his photos of the sheep yesterday – just extraordinarily, characterfully good) and L V Hull’s painting, I too heard Emma Stone speaking at the Golden Globes last night commenting that hope and creativity are two of the most important things in the world. Hope again.

Then I remembered this verse from the poem by Emily Dickinson:

“Hope is the thing with feathers -

That perches in the soul -

And sings the tune without the words -

And never stops - at all”

Thank you again Jon – and L V Hull – and Emily Dickinson. Angels all.

Wishing you angels today and whenever you need them

Jenny
